Position Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sales leader with a passion for tourism to join our team as we elevate our approach to sales. The Travel Trade Sales Manager connects key clients to our remarkable experiences within the Canadian Rockies and acts as a brand ambassador for all the products in the Pursuit Collection. This senior role is responsible for designing and executing strategies to expand our sales efforts internationally through maintaining excellent client relationships, finding ways to grow our client list, and identifying opportunities to develop mutually beneficial partner programs and cooperative marketing initiatives. This role partners with the Director of Sales, the rest of the Travel Trade Team and other Pursuit stakeholders to drive performance to exceed performance targets.

What will you do in this job?

/ Manage a portfolio of existing key clients and seek out new business opportunities for Banff, Jasper Collection while maintaining and growing existing accounts
/ Ensure key partners are set up for success and have the marketing materials they need to optimize and cross sell experiences
/ Attend client meetings either virtually, locally or abroad as required – this may involve attendance at in office meetings, dinners, tradeshows, and sales/FAM trips
/ Track all sales activities in customer relationship management system, daily
/ Collaborate with Pursuit Stakeholders and Key Clients to develop new products and expand revenue opportunities based on market feedback
/ Stay up to date and report on the overall business climate, including updates on guest and competitive activities
/ Work closely with the Pursuit Shared Services Team in establishing go-to-market strategies and tactics, including product development, pricing, scheduling, consumer, trade support and overall brand alignment.
/ Ensure excellent customer service is provided, and problem solve issues as they arise, with assistance of the Sales Operations Team
/ Administrative duties include but not limited to, completing sales reports, participating in developing sales budget and provide ongoing business forecasts

What skills and experience do you need for this job?

Ideal Experience

/ At least 2+ years’ experience working in in a leadership role in sales, preferably in the hospitality, restaurants, hotels, theme parks or resort environments 
/ Must be willing to travel and attend various in-person trade events and missions within Canada and internationally as required
/ Experience with B2B sales and/or Tourism Travel Trade experience in asset
/Experience attending tradeshows and networking events

/Experience in budgeting and forecasting
/ Experience with Microsoft Office tools essential (eg.: Excel, Outlook, PPT, Word, Teams)
/ Experience using SalesForce or Delphi platforms
/ Knowledge of the tourism industry, including PMOs, DMOs, channels of distribution and key global partners is an asset

/Account Management experience a plus

Additional information
Business travel will be required both domestically and internationally.  The nature of this position will require work to be performed at nonstandard hours and weekends. Proof of COVID vaccination may be required for international travel or attendance at certain meetings or events
