Position Summary

This position provides leadership to the Pursuit Applications team that manages our portfolio of applications and helps identify opportunities to improve our processes, third party applications, and our custom systems across Pursuit.  This is a management position with a great team, serving great clients in cool places.  It is a permanent position, joining the Applications team, reporting to the Director of Applications for the Pursuit Collection.

What will you do in this job?

Primary job duties

  • Create best practices around collecting feedback from Pursuit teams and turning them into specifications that can be implemented
  • Plan and budget routine upgrades and maintenance to keep applications current and secure
  • Meet with vendors to ensure progress on the enhancements Pursuit needs
  • Assist the team in creating specifications for our third party vendors and our internal development team
  • Create and implement IT policy which may impact all of Pursuit
  • Create documentation and training programs for staff
  • Organize deadlines and resources for major IT projects such system updates, migrations, upgrades, and application configuration
  • Define and maintain the capital and operational budgets
  • Support the team with resolving issues
  • Monitor applications for reliability, cost, and compliance with policies and support the team in making changes
  • Assess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to internal IT
  • Participate in after-hours on call rotation

What skills and experience do you need for this job?

Ideal Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 8-10 years of experience working in Applications
  • Experience as a Business Analyst
  • Strong knowledge of accounting practices and ERPs (D365 especially)
  • Knowledge of payroll and people management systems
  • Understanding of PCI-DSS and EU-GDPR requirements
  • Experience leading and managing IT projects
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, as well as business applications
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Strong project management skills and strong ability to prioritize
  • Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices
  • Experience with point of sale systems, and applications specific to the attraction and hospitality industries. i.e.: Retail Pro, RTP, Maestro and Simphony (desirable) in a shared services environment (desirable)
