What will you do in this job?

  • Assist with day-to-day management of restaurant, lounge and catering operations;
  • Ensure all communication is forwarded to the Front of the House employees;
  • Training of all new food & beverage staff and provide ongoing coaching and motivation;
  • Assist the F&B Manager with People and Culture work, including discipline and termination;
  • Scheduling servers in coordination with the front office to ensure efficient staffing levels;
  • Ensure a high standard of service to our guests;
  • Maintain a professional image, lead by example;
  • Solicit feedback from our guests to ensure their satisfaction;
  • Provide feedback to Food & Beverage Manager and Hotel Manager;
  • Maintain on going communication with the kitchen to ensure speed of service and quality product;
  • Coordinate numbers of expected guests with the front desk;
  • Assist in controlling all costs;
  • Resolve guests’ challenges;
  • Ensure the restaurant, function spaces and back areas are kept clean at all times;
  • Report any maintenance problems;
  • Attend meetings as required;
  • Assist with the planning and execution of events;
  • Keep current on Food & Beverage trends;
  • Assist with the marketing and promotion of the restaurant and maximizing revenues; and
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Hotel Manager and the Food & Beverage Manager.

What skills and experience do you need for this job?

  • Minimum grade 12 education, Hospitality certification preferred;
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in restaurant operations with supervisory experience;
  • Proserve and WHIMIS certification;
  • Excellent knowledge of food & beverage service;
  • Good knowledge of wine, spirits and beer;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, guest and public relations skills;
  • Neat and clean in appearance and work habits;
  • Ability to accept and give direction;
  • Ability to motivate train and provide on-going coaching;
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to work within a team;
  • Positive attitude;
  • Ability to deal with guest challenges and solve problems as they arise; and
  • Able to work all shifts including split shifts.

This fun summer job has start dates in April and May and runs to October 30, 2022.

  • Busy. You need to be prepared for a physical working environment with walking, stair climbing, bending, reaching, lifting (up to 50 pounds with assistance) required
